Hi, I’m Steph, the maker behind Made to Hold.

I make beautiful pots for everyday life — cups, bowls, jugs and small dishes designed to be used often and enjoyed each time.​

Everything is made by hand in my studio in Auckland, New Zealand.

I pay attention to the details that make a piece feel good to use — the curve of a cup, the weight of a bowl, the feel of a handle, or the way a glaze sits on the surface.

​

Because each piece is handmade, no two are exactly alike. Small differences in shape, surface and glaze are part of what gives each one its character.

My pots are made to be held and that connection matters to me. From my hands to yours, I hope you find something that becomes a favourite.
