I first made these bowls for my god-daughter, Maisie, when she graduated university. I wanted to make something that she could use every day and know how proud I am of who she is. I love how the foot raises the bowl off the surface so you can see the curve - and wrap your hands around it.

This is the larger version - a deep, open, footed bowl for eating dinner, noodles, pasta, salad or use it as a serving dish.

These are made with warm speckled stoneware clay and dipped in white and clear food-safe glazes.

A few notes on handmade pottery:

• Every piece is handmade by me in my shed so they are all slightly different in shape, size, colour and texture.

• My pottery is dishwasher safe but I recommend handwashing to care for the piece

• Photographs of colour and measurements are as accurate as possible
